This is Your Fight!
There is a great deception in the Church that teaches that “If it is God’s will it is God’s bill.” In other words, if God is in it, your plan will prosper. Hmm… I guess Apostle Paul was not up to scratch on the latest Church cliches, because right here I read him saying…
Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us. (1 Thessalonians 2:18)
Did God want the Thessalonian Church to get help or not? (That’s rhetorical) However, each time Paul tried to reach out, the enemy blocked him.
It was God’s will but it was also Paul’s fight and we are grateful that he didn’t give up.
Instead of saying, “Sorry guys. Looks like this is not God’s will. Things are not going smooth.” I don’t think so. Paul MADE A PLAN!
Therefore, when we could no longer endure it, we thought it good to be left in Athens alone and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith, that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. (1 Thessalonians 3:1-3)
In other words, Paul did not give up… he just engaged in a different kind of warfare. I promise, there is no move of God that has not faced opposition.
You Got This!!
Look at your own life. Every time that the Lord wanted to move miraculously, you had to fight for it! The Lord told you to “go” and before you got halfway you hit the Red Sea! The Lord told you to give the word and you ended up running for your life.
Was this a sign that you missed God? NOT AT ALL! In fact, it is only a confirmation that you are on the right track. Reality check guys - we are at war! The Kingdom of Light fights the Kingdom of Darkness at every moment. When God wants to shift, you can be sure that the enemy wants to shift back.
So do you really think that all this warfare is God’s problem? Well then, what did He give us weapons of warfare for? They are not ceremonial uniforms. No, the weapons we have been given have a purpose - to overcome every work of darkness.
PUSH BACK!!
So when the enemy begins pushing against the plans of God in your life - then its time to PUSH BACK! Do not use opposition as a sign from God. Rather stick to what God told you and push through.
Isn’t it something that the New Testament Church who was sold out for Jesus faced imprisonment, torture and death and they rejoiced and considered it as nothing compared to gaining Christ! Yet in our modern Church era, if you follow God and suddenly something goes wrong we say, “This must be a sign from God that I am going in the wrong direction.” As if God only leads us to the broad and straight road to walk!
No, narrow is the gate to salvation and you know what, it’s time we put on our weapons of warfare and did something about it! Is the enemy taking you out at the moment? ARM UP!
Stop just sitting and taking the attacks and please, stop blaming the Lord for them. He put a key in your hand. He put a sword in your holster, now could you please use them? The Holy Spirit trained you for such a time as this. Time to do as Paul and make a plan with the resources that are available to you!
