How do I overcome an orphan spirit?
I met Jesus for the first time when I was 4.
A nice lady said Jesus knocked on the door of my heart. So I prayed non-stop, all day. I told Jesus, again and again, He could come into my heart because deep down, I worried He would get tired of knocking and go away.
That was because I often felt invisible. Unwanted and unloved. I was the one that fit out and didn't belong.
You don't have to be an orphan to have an orphan spirit.
Constantly striving for validation and love is not your inheritance. Rejection may have shaped you, but Jesus has never stopped pursuing you with His love.
Your struggle hasn't gone unnoticed. You're not invisible to Him. God's process has brought you this far. Now take the next step to break free.
You can get rid of an orphan spirit. Here are 3 ways how.
1. Let down your walls.
Coping is not the same as thriving.
Walls keep the bad out, but they also keep the good from coming in. Let Him love you through others. Isolation breeds fear that keeps an orphan mindset in place.
Vulnerability is your key to victory.
2. Let God love you His way.
The depth of God's love is unlike any you've experienced.
Jesus' love heals and transforms. Your idea of love is often your biggest stumbling block to receiving His. Let go of what makes you comfortable and let Him come close.
He'll take your heart and exchange it with His.
3. Embrace your spiritual parents.
God put spiritual parents in your life as an answer to your prayers.
They're not perfect, but they have what God wants you to receive to heal. You're not meant to fix yourself. Receive the training, instruction, and love that they have to give.
Allow His love through them to shape you into the person He's created you to be.
