Breaking Spiritual Links: Why You Need to Do This After Every Time You Minister

One of your greatest strengths is your heart of compassion.

You’re the one that will pray with anyone that asks. You’re always available when someone needs help. You love ministering to God’s people, but afterward, odd things happen.

You experience spiritual attacks. Things break. You fight with your spouse over stupid stuff.

You might even experience nightmares or get ill. You may find doors that were open, suddenly slam shut. You do spiritual warfare but somehow it doesn’t help.

Did you somehow miss God? No. What you need to do is break spiritual links after you minister.

What Is A Spiritual Link?

When you minister to someone, you open your heart to them. This is the reason why they can feel Jesus through you. This is also why you often get so much revelation for the person you’re ministering to. They open their heart to receive from you and the Lord.

This creates a link, a connection in the spirit.

Everything Jesus pours out through you reaches the person through this connection. But anything the person is struggling with has an outlet to reach you if the link isn’t broken.

This might sound terrifying, but it’s all a matter of spiritual hygiene. It's like giving someone a blood transfusion. When the procedure is over, you need to remove the tube that connects you to the other patient. You break the connection and then you can continue on with your day.

How To Break Spiritual Links

You can break a spiritual link with someone with a simple prayer.

“Lord, I break every spiritual link and association with (person’s name). I close my heart and separate my spirit unto you. I reject any contamination, influence, or unclean thing that is not of you and I send back blessing in your name. Amen.”

By breaking links after every time you minister to someone, you keep the door shut to the enemy. You also make sure that your spirit remains clear before the Lord.

You don’t need to be afraid of contamination any time you minister. As believers and as ministers, we have our own struggles. We don’t need to add to it the problems of the people we minister to.

Scripture says in 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Every believer has a responsibility to repent to the Lord for their own sins. We all need daily cleansing and the covering of His blood. We need to do this so much more when we minister to many people!

Breaking links is a part of that cleansing process.

Connection in the spirit with another believer is a powerful experience. It’s a beautiful way for Jesus to speak, to heal, and to build unity among us. When you minister, it’s important to make sure the enemy has no grounds to harass you or the people under you in ministry.

Principles like breaking links can help you shut open doors to the enemy. Bypass unnecessary spiritual attack. Make sure you're well-equipped and protected to help God’s people get the breakthroughs they’re praying for.
