I thought I was born broken! I looked at other men and they had it all together. I was not that guy. I tried to perform like the macho stereotype. I played rugby. I achieved my Springbok/Eagle Scout award. I acted like nothing was wrong while dying on the inside.
Then the Lord called me to be a spiritual father… I died a thousand deaths. How was I going to help these men, when I was still struggling myself? I soon found out, my spiritual sons suffered from similar problems. I realized that masculinity is under attack!
I had a choice to make… do I continue in this house of cards? The sad thing was my wife and children paid the price of me not being the man, Father God called me to be. I continued to play ostrich, made excuses for my shortcomings and failures.
All the while deep inside, I cried out for help, but my pride prevented anyone from knowing it.
It took a crushing experience to change me. I saw a side of myself, I never knew existed. It scared me to death and in that moment, I knew, what society and the religious doctrines told me, did not work. If I was going to change, I needed a real work of God to transform me from the inside out.
As I came to know my Heavenly Father in a new light and His love for me, I found what I was looking for. He shaped me into the man He always intended me to be. I found my identity. I embraced my God-given masculinity.
Now God sends me to help other men find this truth as well. I would do anything for my family and I know that you're the same. If you are a born-again man, I invite you, to stop the struggle inside.
The battle has already been won. You can walk in your blood-bought right, to stand in your masculinity and love like you heavenly Father.
