The Price You Paid
How willing are you to wrestle for the promises that God has given to you? I suppose it’s our nature. We appreciate most the things we have paid the greatest price for.
You guys remember those nasty little Burger King toys that they gave your kids in their kids menu? Believe me when I say, they did not get to stay for long. After a few of them being scattered on the floor for me to walk over in the dead of night - they soon found their way into the trash. And then there was that $200 lego set that my son eagerly waited for on Christmas day. It is beautifully displayed on his shelf in his bedroom!
And no… praying a lot does not count as “travailing long” for God’s promises. That is just a part of it and those of you with a fivefold ministry call, you know what I am talking about. You did a whole lot more than “pray” to fulfil your call. You did a whole lot more than just “pray and hope” for ministry doors to open!
You went through training. You paid a hefty price! You gave up house and home. You let go of relationships. You died to self. You allowed the Holy Spirit to address your character flaws. You pushed through when everyone thought you were crazy. You wrestled for the call. You wrestled for the promise. This is the nature of the call and so if you think you can sit at home, write a few blogs and shoot out a few posts on social media to be an apostle and leader… you have no clue.
Our fruit is found in the lives we change. It is vested in the soil and the fruit is not measured by likes or shares. It is measured by the lasting effect in marriages, homes, businesses, relationships and restored lives.
So yeah, for those of us who went to hell and back for the call on our lives, when we see self-proclaimed apostles and prophets touting a title without the power - it’s downright insulting. Yes, we look on and smile at the immaturity of it all, but at that same moment, it also grieves us.
It grieves us because these same ones will leave a mess in their wake that we will need to go and clean up. These are the ones that lead people astray, break up marriages and shipwreck callings.
So apostle… prophet… pastor… teacher… if you are in travail for your call, thank the Lord for it. PRAISE Him for it! For you are well on your way to walking out the power of the call. Don’t fall into the majority of carrying a mantle that came for free with a “fun meal.”
Rather pay the price and have the power to heal, than have the title and be a clanging cymbal.
Here’s to all the ministry leaders out there going through their wilderness. All of us who share your process are praying you through because the Church needs you to go through. It needs you for healing. It needs you to birth this new apostolic move.
